How to use a laser bore sight on a rifle.
Boresights can provide several benefits like saving time.
It will be accurate up to 100 yards with the boresight getting you within 3 to 4 inches of the center of the target.
Sight in the rifle at the gun range.
After youve mounted your scope this should arguably be your top priority.
Its still important to take your rifle to the range and go through a few practice rounds to get the feel of the scope and make small adjustments as necessary.
Now that you have a stable rifle and a laser bore sight cartridge you can align your sight.
Each gun is slightly different no matter how accurate so take some time to get used to it and sight it in properly.
With your rifle stable and the laser bore sight in the barrel youre ready to align your sight.
Boresighting lines up the optical sight located on the top of the gun barrel with your bore axis.
Hang a target 15 to 25 yards out.
Make sure the firearm is completely unloaded and pointed in a safe direction.
Use a benchrest shooting bags or another platform that stabilizes your gun.
Remove the batteries from the boresight packaging and unscrew the bottom of the boresight.
At this distance the laser should completely fill up the center of the daylight target included with your boresight.
It helps to ensure your first shot will hit target paper at about 50 yards.
